The vision of Snyder Students is to be a resource for parents. We know parenting teenagers can be challenging at times. We also know finding solid, Christian resources can be difficult. We hope to continually add resources to this page. Our payer is parents--as the primary spiritual influence of these students--have everything they need to raise kids in the way they should go.
We are excited about welcoming Chris Sasser to Snyder to lead a one evening parenting seminar called “Bags.” Chris is the family pastor at Port City Community Church, family consultant through Ministry Architects, founder of Equip and Encourage a ministry dedicated to equipping parents, and is in the process of publishing a book on kid’s baggage. “Bags” is a deep dive into identifying eight common bags that kids pack as they grow up and thinking through what we as parents can do to help them NOT pack these bags. Our observations come from interviews and focus groups with young adults, and our ideas and suggestions are rooted in a Biblical foundation and a faith in Jesus. My hope is that this conversation can influence parents to pay attention to the bags that kids are packing and actively work against these bags becoming weights too heavy to bear.
Worried about the bags your kids are going to carry into adulthood? Wonder what kids are saying about their parents during premarital counseling?? Most importantly, wanting some help lightening their baggage through Biblical principles?
